THREAD's "First Thursday Open Studios"
Don't forget: The next "Open Studios" will be held on December 3rd from 6-8pm! Invite your friends and family to come and check out what you're all up to. It will also be a holiday potluck, so bring your favorite food or drink to share with your neighbors. Yum!
Artist Highlight: Angela Manno
THREAD Studios loves artists (Isn't that clear?), and we especially love to promote members of our community. Angela Manno is the recipient of this week's edition of Artist Highlight. She has been an artist for over 25 years and experiments with many different art forms from east to west, ancient to contemporary.
According to her website:
Manno is also an accomplished plein air landscape painter, having studied with instructors trained at the Cape School of Art, founded by Charles Hawthorne, a contemporary of Monet who taught the Master's painting technique. Ms. Manno has added fresco painting to her repertoire in recent years, with the completion of a seven-foot fresco at the Palazzo Torlonia, Ceri, Italy and a number of mural projects in the United States. Most recently, Manno has begun painting in oils as well as encaustic, an ancient wax-based medium which ties in to her many years experience with batik which also utilizes molten wax.

Artist Highlight: Joon Kwon
